    The benefits of consuming coconut oil mentioned are more or less correct. However, there is a feeling among people suffering from LDL cholesterol problem that consumption of coconut oil increases it and as such it should be avoided. Almost all keralites in India used to prepare food items in coconut oil since quite a long time and there was no much adverse effect reported on its use for the people. However, more research and study is required to confirm the same.
